2018 Parade Kids!

2018 Parade Kids at Tan-Tar-A promises to be exciting! With so many things to do on site and great activities planned, all kids and juniors under 18 are welcome to join in accompanied by their parents! Our Kids activities are meant to introduce kids to one another and follow the adult Parade activities at a junior level. Lifelong friends have been forged here!

Register for Parade Kids during Parade event registration on April 2, 2018. Each kid will receive a Kids Parade T-Shirt and goodie bag at check-in and are welcome to come to any or all of the listed activities below. All participating Parade Kids will also receive an impressive Parade medal.

Some Things to Know: Events and activities are designed for families to do together. Parade Kids provides childcare on Tuesday and Saturday evenings only. Some events require pre-registration and a separate fee. Please see below for details.

Below is a short description of the Parade Kids PCA activities planned for the week.

Parade Kids at the Pirelli Welcome Party: (Sunday) Stop by the Parade Kids Table at the Pirelli Welcome Party, where we will have a few special things to see and do – just for kids!

Miniature Car Concours: (Monday) The Tradition continues! Every kid (0-17 years) gets to paint a wooden toy car and we have a “People’s Choice” Concours with awards given in each age group.

Little People’s Choice Concours Award: (Monday) The kids vote for their favorite Adult Concours car and a trophy is given to that lucky car owner! 2015 was the inaugural year for this award.

Make and Take Crafts: (Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday) We make fun projects together and they are yours to keep! Stop in and see what surprises we have in store this year!

RC Cars: (Tuesday & Wednesday) Who doesn’t love remote control cars? Bring your own or borrow ours! Times will be listed to practice on the track and we have a competition later in the week with awards given in each age group.

Ice Cream Social: (Tuesday) This is for everyone 1-100 years old. Come build your own Sundae!

Kids Camp/Childcare: (Tuesday) During the Concours Banquet on Tuesday evening, we will again be offering childcare, which includes games and activities, movies and a kid-friendly meal. Note: Pre-registration and a separate fee are required. Activities are as follows:

Big Kids (Ages 10 & up): During the Kids Camp, Big Kids will be running “The Amazing Race”. This is a fun team competition set up like a Gimmick Rally or Scavenger Hunt for on-foot teams. Awards will be given.

Little Kids (Ages 9 & under): During the Kids Camp, Little Kids will have age-appropriate games, activities and movies to keep them busy while you enjoy the Concours Banquet.

Parade Kids at the Mobil1 Rally Party: (Wednesday) Stop by the Parade Kids Table at the Mobil1 Rally Party, where we will have a few special things to see and do – just for kids!

AnyCross Competition: (Thursday) A track is set up and the kids run it using anything that rolls – scooters, bikes, trikes, skateboards, rollerblades. Even parents pushing strollers are welcome. In the past we have had a special visitor come visit the kids too! Awards are given in each age group.

The T-Shirt and Tote Design Contest: (Thursday) All kids are invited to design the picture that will be used for the T-Shirt and Tote bag for next years Parade Kids. (2019 Boca Raton, FL) Entries are due by 5PM on Thursday.

Family Fun Night: (Thursday) Come and enjoy an evening of Bowling on-site. The alley will be reserved for Parade Kids only and we will have a fun fill evening of Strikes and Turkeys! Dinner is included. Note: Pre-registration and a separate fee are required.

Kids Tech Quiz: (Friday) Similar to the Adult Quiz, but at a junior level. Awards will be given.

Parade Kids at the Michelin Late Apex Party: (Friday) The Michelin Late Apex Party is also Parade Kids Recognition night. Kids will be welcomed on stage to receive their Parade medals and trophies for competitive events. In addition, stop by the Parade Kids Table at the Michelin Late Apex Party, where we will have a few special things to see and do – just for kids!

5K Walk/Run: (Saturday) Kid friendly events for kids to do with their parents.

Kids Camp/Childcare: (Saturday) During the Victory Banquet on Saturday evening, we will again be offering childcare, which includes games and activities, movies and a kid-friendly meal. Note: Pre-registration and a separate fee are required. Activities are as follows:

Big Kids (Ages 8 & up): During the Kids Camp, Big Kids will compete in an 18-hole miniature golf tournament. Awards will be given.

Little Kids (Ages 7 & under): During the Kids Camp, Little Kids will have age-appropriate games, activities and movies to keep them busy while you enjoy the Victory Banquet.

Parents! Please consider volunteering at one (or more) of our activities and join in the fun your children are having! We need a lot of volunteers to make Parade Kids successful!

Background Check for Parade Kids Volunteers
New for 2018, consistent with many other service organizations PCA will conduct background checks for all Parade Kids Volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for Parade Kids, PCA will send you a link to complete the background check at a later time. You will be asked to fill in information such as your name, social security number, and residence addresses for the past 7 years. All background checks will be conducted by a third-party agency. The reports generated may contain a verification of identity and information regarding any federal or local criminal history. Your personal information will not be collected or retained by PCA.
